The Brisbane Transport Museum has secured a new sponsorship arrangement with global transport solutions company Indra to help restore historic Brisbane City Council buses to their former glory.
Indra, a world leading supplier of proprietary solutions in transport, is a key contractor to Brisbane City Council for their flagship Brisbane Metro project.
The first vehicle benefiting from this new arrangement is former Brisbane City Council bus 958, a 1985 MAN SL200 which is being restored to its former Cityxpress glory.
The introduction of the first Cityxpress service from Garden City/Mt Gravatt to the City in February 1982 revolutionised bus travel in Brisbane by providing the first limited stop, express services operating every 30 minutes.
The work is being undertaken by the team at Royans Coachworks at Acacia Ridge in Brisbane.
A public unveiling is taking place at the Brisbane Transport Museum on Saturday, 2 August 2025 from 2.00pm.
