On Saturday, 20 April 2024, we acquired yet another heritage Brisbane City Council bus for our burgeoning collection at the Brisbane Transport Museum.
This particular vehicle, former Brisbane City Council 1968 Leyland Panther/Athol Hedges bus number 493, is in exceptionally good condition for its age which is a credit to its owner Adam Sullivan, who maintained the vehicle for around 20 years until its disposal to QOCS.
We thank Adam for being such a wonderful custodian of the bus and welcome the fourth Leyland Panther to our collection!
Many thanks to our great friends at Barnes Auto Co who made easy work of removing the vehicle from its home for the past decade or so at Bald Hills!
